The Colombia Country Brand is going all out on Twitter by Taking Territorial Marketing from the Streets of New York to a Twitter Account near You

As part of its international strategy to attract new business and tourism, the Colombia Country Brand, a competitive tool of the National Government, is taking country branding to the social mediascape to show the world the positive change Colombia is experiencing. The country is in a process of renovation, in a growing economy with ample possibilities of business, travel and investment.

Since April 18th at 3 p.m. EST, Colombians have been the talk of town across the world thanks to the auctions of six unique experiences that Colombia country brand brought to the world, an activity that shows the world why the Answer is Colombia.

The inauguration event took place in Times Square, where New York inhabitants and tourists alike had the chance to appreciate the cultural, touristic and musical richness of the South American country. An impromptu concert by Fonseca and the appearance of both coffee legend mascot Juan Valdez and the queen of this year’s Barranquilla Carnival, helped kick start the event that drew people from all continents.

Between April 18 and May 28, the event Auction was highlighted with an event on the ground at Times Square where people could have their picture taken along with the country brand’s auctioneer, get directions on how to participate in the auction, or even have a Twitter account created for them so they could participate. And from then on the auction has continued through Twitter, where the followers of the Colombia country brand English language profile, @BrandColombia, have had a significant impact in the social network, making the #ColombiaTimesSquare hashtag a Trending Topic not only in Colombia, where it is to be expected, but also in countries as far away as Spain.

Through the Auction of Unique Colombian Experiences, people from countries all over the world have the chance to win an all-expense paid experience in Colombia.

The experience can be chosen from one of the following six options: being witness to the rearing of a whale calf in the Pacific, having a smooth cup of coffee while breathing in the cafetero atmosphere and landscape, living the magic of the biggest theater festival in the world, taking a marvelous stroll in the walled city of Cartagena, feeling the welcoming ways and perfect spring-like weather of the people of the most innovative city in the world or discover the secrets of San Agustín.

The mechanics of this auction are very simple, there are two ways to participate, one for Colombians, who already know and love their country and one for foreigners who despite many having come visited the country in the past, can still learn a lot about it; Colombians must make a one minute video telling the world why “The Answer is Colombia” (the tagline for the country brand’s campaign), and upload it to YouTube, where a jury will review it and select the best one.

As for foreigners, all they have to do is follow @BrandColombia on Twitter, write one or more tweets using the tag #TheAnswerisCOlombia and then go bug their friends, family, followers and even annoying stalkers in order to get the most retweets. They have until May 5th at noon Colombian time (1 p.m. EST) to be the loudest Tweep out there.

The 20 people with Twitter accounts who get the most retweets overall can pick one of the six experiences auctioned, and then live their pick, and visit Colombia. People from all parts of the world are already tweeting and asking for their friends’ support to be part of the list of winners.

What has been achieved?

In terms of activity, there has been a remarkable interest of more than 180 foreign citizens from countries like France, England, Finland, South Korea, India, among many others, and many are already packing their bags to embark on an adventure that only Colombia can provide.
The auction accounts for more than 300 participants and some of them have already reached the 200-retweet mark; the final ranking will be available on May 9th, after all the tweets and retweets have been duly tallied and counted.

So fart the Twitosphere has gotten to know Colombia’s best: On April 18th the hashtag #ColombiaTimesSquare became a Trending Topic in Colombia, Latin America and Spain.

Pinstripes For Banksters And Justice For All. It’s Only Right.

Peaceful restoration of our freedoms and justice for all is what all of us want. Over two hundred years ago when we fought against tyranny for our independence, many lives were lost, some of those were innocent people but in that instance it was necessary, today we hope that our govenrmnet comes to it’s senses and realizes that they can’t and mustn’t favor one class of people over others and justice should be doled out equally to all if a law has been broken-we must not just tolerate crime and look the other way for certain people.

Turn off the TV, don’t let them divert your attention any longer, wake up because your freedoms are slowly and surely being stripped from you. It won’t be long before they knock on the door to your home, they tell you to surrender your guns and issue a decree that you are no longer authorized to protest in any way against the government. This will also include postings online, speech and that your opinions and dissent must be kept to yourself or you will be imprisoned for inciting violence against the government or should I say, the monarchy.

The banks and the government created this financial mess but the citizens, taxpayers and homeowners have had to take the brunt of it and it’s now weighing so much on our shoulders that we can’t tolerate in any further. Stop the insanity now, these people have the misconception that they are Gods, perfect in every way and they put it across to all of us in an arrogant and belittling way. All of us deserve better, we deserve a media that reports the truth, not what the government authorizes or we aren’t any better than Venezuela, where Hugo Chaves controls the media in every way and tries to keep the people uninformed and preoccupied with news and reports of a mundane nature so no one will catch on that he’s fattening his vault just as the leaders of all of the countries in the Middle East that have fallen already to the uprising of the people. If you recall when you read the bible last that Jesus only got angry with one group of people-they were the moneychangers and he cast them out, this is what we must do without hesitation.

The people of this country fought the second World War and defeated two dictatorships that wanted to control the world, but the U.S. men and women of that generation got the job done, everyone worked together, over 20 million men joined the armed forces, while the women took their places in the factories and that’s how it’s done. A peaceful resolution is what we all want but we must leave all options on the table as the government and the banks have already bought the police and they will be utilizing the returning troops to stand guard over all of us but we have hopes that they would not shoot us down like dogs as they may be killing their own loved ones, friends and co-workers at the behest of the real animals that are threatening the values, democracy and economic structure of this country.

If we are going to restore the freedoms and stop the fraudulent bankers from pilfering and betting on our economy and threatening our futures than we deserve what we get, otherwise, let’s get together and demand a stop to his treachery and debauchery orchestrated and implemented by Washington D.C. and Wall Street elitists. Their plan is simple, financial destruction of the multitudes.

Justice for all, no exceptions and If the bankers commit fraud, they must be treated as any other citizen no matter what, including prison sentences if the crime is serious enough to warrant it.

1st Congressional Districts Cook County South Suburban Residents and newly re-districted Will County are climbing aboard the Peloquin Economic Development and Transportation Expansion Plans. The recent 1st congressional re-districting has woken up many of the suburban residents who have virtually been without representation, to the fact that they’ve been swept up in the Bobby Rush city politics, and they’re climbing aboard the Peloquin“We Can Make A Difference” campaign Citing the proposed transportation expansion spanning the I-57 and 294 Peloquin has introduced the strategic importance of the I-57 and I-80 potential economic quarters much like the I-88 and I-90 were to the western suburbs of Illinois. Peloquin further defines the Proposed Peotone Airport as the key to establishing the success as seen in the west sides large land based re-development at Center Point, which has brought in thousands of new intermodal facilities, commerce and much needed jobs.

The proposed Peotone Airport would be scaled down and tailored to the much needed cargo and freight transportation to utilize the existing intermodal facilities and infrastructure in place. There are many industrial facilities that have rail systems in place, why spend the money re-inventing the wheel, it’s about recovery, and this district has a lot of underutilized and vacant assets sitting idle. This would bring a new network of jobs and drive economic growth through the use of the proposed cargo and freight based airport. It could virtually replicate the success of I-88 and I-90 model of to the Westside throughout Southern Cook County and Will County Just like Peloquin, the 1st district residents have called out both congressmen Rush and Jackson to meet with Peloquin on the proposed Peotone airport and I-57 and 294 expansion, and just like Rush’s dubious record of missing the most votes in congress for his 1st district, he is missing again, while Jessie has his own personal agenda for the airport, he’s missing too.

1st district residents are supporting the Peloquin proposed governing board consisting of Will County, Southern Cook County and the City of Chicago representatives to assure they are all acting in the best interest of the 1st district, not on personal agendas, hiding, or simply missing the opportunities to produce long term growth for their constituents outside the Chicago city limits. Out of the 17 cities comprising the 1st district, the majority of the mayors have been endorsing Peloquin as their residents realize Peloquin, and his posture to trim down the size and complexity of government, is left little choice but to propose the governing board because Rush’s interests for one, focus on the populous Chicago City voters and not their interests.

Heads of Tinley Park, Frankfort and Mokena endorsed Don Peloquin, and as Mokena Mayor Joe Warner states “Peloquin has more experience in personally interacting with the range of diverse people now a part of the new 1st district. from the urban Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago’s far north end, to rural Elwood on the opposite south west boundary. That’s a complicated range of needs”.

Doug Berger for NC Senate: Happy Birthday, Garner’s Own, Scotty McCreery

Today, Senator Doug Berger, wished local American Idol phenomenon, Scotty McCreery, a happy 19 th birthday. McCreery, who won Season 10 of the popular TV singing competition, American Idol, is from Garner, North Carolina. When asked why he singled out McCreery, Senator Berger said, “ While many people are fans of Scotty McCreery’s music, I think he should be commended for his decision to not only return to high school, but to attend North Carolina State University.”

Instead of completing his high school education through the use of tutors, Scotty McCreery opted to complete his senior year at Garner High School last fall where he competed as a pitcher on his high school baseball team. After he graduated, McCreery enroll as a freshman at North Carolina State University.

Senator Berger went on to say, “There was a real collaborative effort with his school, his parents — it’s just such a great example to young people, when someone makes it big like Scotty, yet stays grounded and puts his priorities in the right place. So many people look up to him; he’s a local hero and for Scotty to choose education – as a former school teacher that’s something I particularly appreciate, and something for which we should all be proud.”

Senator Berger is running for reelection to the Senate in the newly drawn, NC Senate District 18. The races features two candidates with varying backgrounds; there is a clear choice between Senator Doug Berger and Chad Barefoot. Doug Berger for NC Senate: Questions Arise in NC Redistricting

Recent media reports indicate that advocacy groups found over two thousands voters who were assigned to the wrong state House, Senate or congressional districts. This information was gleaned from a “spot analysis” of six counties including: Wake, Durham, Wayne, Wilson, Robeson and Richmond. According to these reports, over two hundred of these voters received the wrong ballots on Election Day. Advocacy groups contend that black voters are much more likely than white voters to live in split precincts, which is the root of the issue.

One of the more impacted areas was the former NC Senate District 7 (Franklin, Granville, Vance, and Warren), which was carved up sending Franklin county as well as portions of Wake county into the newly formed NC Senate District 18.  This forced 4-term senator, Doug Berger, into a new district where he is unknown to many of the Wake county voters.

Senate districts were redrawn by the Republican majority during the last legislative session. To accomplish this, Thomas Hofeller who lists his present occupation as, “Redistricting Consultant at Republican National Committee,” was employed. According to Senator Rucho, who served as the Chairman of the North Carolina Senate Redistricting Committee, Hofeller was employed to provide “the technical expertise.” Hofeller also lists years of work at the United States Department of Agriculture, which has its own checkered past regarding race relations.

Core Assets Announces New Centre For Research In Fostering And Education

Core Assets has announced Minister for Children and Families, Edward Timpson MP, has officially launched a new and innovative research centre at the University of Oxford that sets out to improve the lives of children and young people in foster care.

The Rees Centre for Research in Fostering and Education, based in the Department of Education, is thought to be the only dedicated research centre in the world to examine how policy makers and agencies can improve educational outcomes for children and young people in foster care. The Rees Centre will involve carers, fostered children and young people and service providers in identifying urgent areas for research.

Edward Timpson MP, said: “Foster carers make a massive difference to the lives of vulnerable children by helping to give them a loving and caring home, and the much needed stability for them to succeed at school. We need to know what works and why, so that we can give more children in care a better chance to succeed. That is why the work of Rees Centre is so important to children across the country. I very much look forward to working with the centre.”

Coinciding with the launch, the centre has published an international review of research on why people become foster carers. The next research project to be implemented by the centre will examine ways of tackling the current recruitment crisis of foster carers in England. Researchers from the centre will study carers in England specifically, asking them why they started fostering children. Why people foster is a topic of urgent interest to policy makers and practitioners because the current number of available foster carers lags behind the increasing number of children and young people seeking placements. The research will be guided by carers, some of whom will also receive training to interview other carers as part of the research.

The Rees Centre is named after Jan Rees, founder and non-executive director at Core Assets. Core Assets, a major provider of children’s services in the UK and internationally, is giving financial support to the centre.

Jan said: “I am enormously excited to put my name to such an august endeavour; practice- based research into the mechanics of fostering is an undeveloped area. We hope it will discover more about what makes the best foster parents, what constitutes the most efficacious support and what conditions children need to flourish in order to maximise their academic, social and emotional potential. To have Oxford University support our efforts is beyond my wildest expectations and we hope that this centre will grow into a worldwide resource.”

The new centre will draw on the world-leading expertise of the Department of Education at the University of Oxford, which carries out cutting-edge, policy-related research into how disadvantaged children and young people can be helped to achieve. Its researchers will also include academics working in related disciplines and faculties at the University, particularly in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention, as well as from other institutions both in the UK and in other parts of the world.

Doug Berger for NC Senate: Senator Doug Berger Reaffirms Support of Teachers and Education on World Teacher Day

Today, Senator Doug Berger issued the following statement regarding World Teachers’ Day:

I want to thank teachers everywhere but particularly in North Carolina. Yesterday, we learned that in North Carolina we lost about 11,791 teachers last year. North Carolina is facing a critical time and we must find our footing regarding the prioritization of public education. Teachers are entrusted with our greatest resource, our children and the future they represent.  Instead of cutting education we need to invest in education and that starts with teachers. During the last legislative session I stood with teachers. As a former teacher for both middle school and high school, I understand the challenges that teachers face. It’s bad enough that teachers find themselves as targets, but the assault on the overall funding for education makes it even worse. For example, in Franklin County , they saw a 54.4% reduction in funding for textbooks; books are becoming so expensive that schools have to guard them due to the lack of funding, a student must ask to bring a textbook home and even then, there is no guarantee they will receive permission. Recent reports place the present spending for textbooks in Franklin County at approximately $14 per student, per year – that is unacceptable. North Carolina can do better, indeed North Carolina MUST do better. The choking of our schools funding simply cannot continue. Republicans want to take money from schools so they can pay for their tax cuts for millionaires – it’s Robin Hood in reverse, rob from the areas in need and give to those who do not understand need. I hold educators in the highest regard; I understand and thank them for their sacrifice. I am extremely honored and grateful to have been endorsed by the North Carolina Association of Educators. They represent what I have spent my eight years fighting for as a State Senator. I will do everything in my power to insure teachers receive what they need to make sure our children have the best possible chance for the future.”

24.09.2012 Germany will not increase Eurozone rescue fund

According to the press service of the German Finance Ministry, it is unreal to increase the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) four times – from 500 billion to two trillion euros. This denial was a response to the article in Der Spiegel about the negotiations on this issue, and Germany has already spoken for the ESM increase.

Martin Kotthaus, the representative of the German Ministry of Finance in Brussels, said there were talks going on in Brussels about leveraging the capacity of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) in the same way as its predecessor, the European Financial Stability Fund (EFSF). But, asked about a report in the German media, that the ESM’s capacity could be 4 times leveraged to 2 trillion euros through the intervention of the private sector, he said this was “illusory”. “It is not feasible to talk about figures at present,” Kotthaus told reporters. “It is purely abstract.”

ESM treaty was conceived as the euro zone’s permanent bailout fund and will enter into force if it is approved by the Member States representing 90% of eurozone capital subscription at the European Central Bank. The ESM was assumed to come into force on July 1, 2012. But the deadline was postponed due to delays in the ratification procedures in a number of euro zone countries, including Germany, where ESM was first acknowledged by the Constitutional Court.

In September 2012, the German Constitutional Court admitted that the ESM permanent euro-zone bailout fund and fiscal pact ESM European Union (EU) do not contradict the legislation of the country under certain conditions. The German Constitutional Court demanded that German liabilities within the mechanism not exceed 190 billion, without the approval of the lower house of the German parliament. In addition, both houses of the German parliament should be informed of the decisions taken in the ESM.

On September, 14, Eurogroup chair Jean-Claude Juncker announced that the ESM will be operational in October 2012 and will provide the first three tranches of the total 32 billion euros. According to Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Eurozone bailout funds need to be increased to at least €1 trillion as soon as possible. “Greece was the first and most urgent step. But the challenges remain daunting. We need to construct a stronger financial firewall. And this wall must be high, strong, and sufficient enough to deter speculations and must be undebatable in action “- said Angel Gurria.

At the same time, according to a financial advisor Dmitry Chernavski, the ESM increase does not solve the fundamental problems of the debt crisis in Eurozone. The debt crisis in Europe, said Dmitry Chernavski, is just a consequence of the countries with different levels of life and mentality integrating into European Union. “After the clearance of liquid asset the peripheral countries in Europe can no longer offer competitive products to the world market, thus reducing the trade deficit, they cannot create jobs and stabilize the budget”, – says Dmitry Chernavski.

“R.I.P., G.O.P” Says Republican Anti-Romney Activist

Will the GOP survive Mitt Romney? No chance, insists a Republican precinct committee officer (PCO) from Redmond, Wash., who has renounced the ticket on two of his websites, RIPGOP and RINORomney.

Lord Nigel Featherston, a former Microsoft engineer who holds 12 patents, thinks the Grand Old Party can be saved, but not by the Romney-Ryan ticket.

“Electing Romney would drive another nail into the party’s coffin,” Featherston declares on his website. Although he rants against RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) and labels Romney a “liberal RINO who lacks any basic conservative principles,” the 66-year-old entrepreneur isn’t suggesting conservatives cast votes for Democrats.

“We must vote for conservative congressional candidates and we must fight the destructive RINOs by rejecting Romney,” he urges, adding, “Vote or write-in a true conservative, perhaps the Libertarian candidate.”

Regardless of the outcome of November’s election, Featherston believes a new conservative party must be created. RINOS killed the GOP, he says.

As for Romney’s pick of Paul Ryan as his running mate, Featherston says voters must realize this is “a total sham.” If Romney were a true conservative he would not have the support of Karl Rove and the GOP country club RINOs, Featherston contends. The notion that Ryan’s conservatism will make Romney more conservative is ludicrous, he insists. “Romney only pretends to be conservative in hopes of getting elected.” After the election, Featherston predicts Ryan will regret being Romney’s running mate,” realizing he was chosen just to provide conservative lip-service and to appease conservatives and the Tea Party. Although Featherston has donated to Republican candidates in the past and served multiple terms as a GOP PCO, he now leans toward the Libertarian party.

The Council of Tenerife has announced a new initiative that will convert Tenerife into a global communication capital

The objective of the ALIX initiative is to transform Tenerife into a main link within the global telecommunications network via the development of the neutral Internet access point (or NAP) for Western Africa-Canary Islands, the Island Telecommunications Ring and the CanaLink Project.

As a result of the geographical location of the Canary Islands in a key zone between Latin America, Africa and the rest of Europe, the Archipelago acts as a privileged tri-continental bridge. Status as a platform between three continents offers many advantages in a number of areas including cultural, social, economic, business spheres. All areas of our daily lives can be benefitted via good management of the location of the Islands within this globalised world.

The Western Africa-Canary Islands Nap (Network Access Point) is the element that will enable Tenerife to exploit its possibilities as a tri-continental platform and bridge, commencing with fundamental issue: communications. The Nap, to be installed in Granadilla, will house various existing submarine cable links along with others that are being prepared both between the Islands and within the Canary Islands-Europe-Africa-Latin America axis.

Therefore, the Council of Tenerife’s Western Africa-Canary Islands Nap will act as a neutral data centre that not only serves as a point of concentration and distribution of international connectivity, but also as a base infrastructure for local information technology companies interested in competing overseas, or international companies that wish to operate in Western Africa using Tenerife as a platform, with the legal security afforded by location in the EU, hoping to benefit from the additional fiscal advantages associated with the Canary Islands’ status as an Outermost Region.

In order to provide alternatives to internal connections, the Council is creating a fibre-optic cable network that will allow the Island to provide its own infrastructure for voice and data transmission.

The first phase will see the southern zone of Tenerife linked to the facilities of the Canary Islands Astrophysics Institute, using the layout of the roads and motorways on the Island. The second phase will see fibre-optics extended to the north and south-east, also via the road network managed by the Island Corporation.

The Island Telecommunications Ring of Tenerife will also be connected to the Western Africa-Canary Islands Nap.

The CanaLink project is another cornerstone of ALIX. CanaLink will contribute to the end of the monopoly within cable communications. CanaLink is formed by the Telecommunications Technology Institute (IT3) and the neutral submarine cable operator, IslaLink. It is responsible for laying a new cable between Tenerife and Rota (Cadiz), which will result in the liberalisation of the sector.

This submarine cable will avoid failures in data transmission and will afford high levels of quality to telecommunications within the Archipelago. It will fulfil the demands of the various telecommunications operators that operate in the remainder of the national territory that currently have their access to the market of the Canary Islands restricted.

Palestinian Statehood Bid Questioned at UN Headquarters in New York by International Christian Delegation

A group of Christian pastors presented an outline of Bible prophesies to the U.N. relating to the proposal to recognise Palestine this month and the dangerous consequences to the nations. As reported by The Washington Post and The Associated Press in a news release dated Wednesday, August 31, 2011, Israel is resigned to the U.N. General Assembly’s endorsement of a planned Palestinian bid for admission as a state to the United Nations in late September.

Conservative Christians are virtually unanimous in their support for Israel. In mid-August, Yahoo News news.yahoo.com reported that Bible-believing pastors were in New York City to warn U.N. officials concerning the Palestinian’s admission to the United Nations. The group informed officials of the Bible’s strong warnings against dividing the land of Israel. One member of the delegation was quoted as saying“There’s a Jew on the throne of heaven and Israel is his land.”

They have repeated their warnings of the Bible’s declaration of the true owner of the land of Israel and the predicted consequences to the Nations that are involved in dividing Israel. A summation of their beliefs is as follows:

1. God’s ownership of the entire land of Israel is absolute and His conveyance of the land to the Jewish people disallows U.N. authority over Israel.

• God said of Israel, “The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine…” Leviticus 25:23

• God gave it, “To Israel for an everlasting covenant, saying, unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance” “And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee…all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” Genesis 17:8

2. Granting nation status to the Palestinians defies God’s declaration of ownership and will lead to the following judgments:

• God said that all nations would collectively divide the land of Israel and that the people and nations involved would be judged severely. They used the following Bible verses to support their case: Zechariah 12:3 “…I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Joel 3:2 states: “I will also gather all nations …and will plead with them…for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”

• The Bible also teaches that subsequent to dividing the land of Israel, God will bring the following types of catastrophes and judgments which are revealed in the Prophets and the New Testament:

• Worldwide financial collapse

• Worldwide weather disasters and extreme heat waves

• The greatest earthquake of all time leading to the cities falling

• Worldwide famine with plagues and pestilence

• Armageddon

“For the LORD shall rise up …he shall be wroth…Now therefore be ye not mockers…: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.” Isaiah 28:21-22

Some have asked how a loving and merciful God could seek to destroy the nations for coming against Israel. The answer they state is that they have rejected The Lord Jesus Christ, referred to in the Bible as the King of the Jews and the ruler of heaven and earth.

Those who recognize their personal sin and ask Jesus for salvation will escape the world-wide judgements. “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness…” Mark 7:21-22

WTAMU Professor Seeks Exit Poll Data

Dr. Dave Rausch is gearing up for November’s general election. That’s because Rausch, Teel Bivins Professor of Political Science at West Texas A&M University, loves studying election results and is conducting an exit poll for November’s gubernatorial election.

“I use exit polls to uncover the reasons why voters selected a particular candidate,” Rausch said. “I also use the data for teaching social statistics.”

An exit poll is a survey of sorts taken soon after selected voters leave their voting place. This type of poll differs from an opinion poll by asking how the voter actually voted. Rausch is asking voters to visit wtamu.edu or his web site at wtamu.edu/~jrausch. Both sites will have a link for the exit poll with a few questions about the election as well as questions on term limits, the Tea Party movement and the United States Congress. Voters also will be asked some economic questions and about religious affiliation and church attendance to help Rausch define voting trends.

“The information collected will give me a better understanding of why voters cast ballots as they did,” Rausch said.

Early voting runs Oct. 18-29, and election day is Tuesday, Nov. 2. The general election ballot will include the race for several state offices including governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.

In a series of regional events, black farmers will urge Congress and President Obama to act now on a promised $1.15 billion to remedy decades of discrimination.

“The nation’s treatment of black farmers is a blight. Empty promises only make matters worse,” said Dr. Boyd. “It is time for Congress to do the right thing and compensate discriminated black farmers for the government’s wrongs against them. It certainly has found the will to fund far less worthy and much more expensive causes. “

Beginning on February 6 in Little Rock, Arkansas, black farmers and supporters from some of the most depressed areas of the country will come together to insist on long promised and long delayed justice. It was back in 1999 that the government agreed to one of the largest civil rights settlements in our history, the Pigford case, due to discriminatory practices by the USDA.

In his State of the Union address, President Obama observed: “We find unity in our incredible diversity, drawing on the promise enshrined in our Constitution: the notion that we are all created equal, that no matter who you are or what you look like, if you abide by the law you should be protected by it; that if you adhere to our common values you should be treated no different than anyone else.”

On the other side of the aisle, Governor Bob McDonnell of Virginia found it easy to agree on the subject of job creation.

“We were encouraged to hear President Obama speak this evening about the need to create jobs,” said McDonnell. “All Americans should have the opportunity to find and keep meaningful work, and the dignity that comes with it.”

But for black farmers, the ideals laid out by both President Obama and Governor McDonnell have been only a dream. Black farmers and supporters will rally throughout the Southeast culminating in a rally in front of the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC to make heard the urging of thousands: keep your promise; justice now.

Perhaps Blair rewards would not be considered in such a negative light by the general public if the line that he was holding made sense for the rest of the world rather than a few elite politicians selling hope and salvation, while creating destruction and despair. The result is so much power and so little idea of how to use it.

For politicians it pays to act on the interest of war. French President Jacques Chirac, who was against the war in the Middle East, has not reaped the benefits of lucrative circuit lectures. Apparently, his opposition and insistence on peace is of little benefit to the high dollar stakeholders and businesses in the United States. After all, without the war in Iraq it would have been difficult to raid the coffers of the United States and launder and distribute astonishingly large amount of cash though big business in the name of peace via a war on terror. The value for the ring leaders is that they get to leave office with little to no accountability and then go and collect from the businesses that benefitted from their self interested decisions.

Certainly, the Blair rewards program is taken as more of a feather in Tony Blair’s hat rather than a stain upon his name and character. As a politician trying to become elected or reelected, the easy saver would be a path of least resistance and a tempting offer to consider. This simply proves the stereotype that politicians are only interested in money and power. Too many people either did nothing or participated in the Blair rewards program, which has allowed evil to prevail.

It is unfortunate that the Blair rewards program has come full circle from the United States. As the economy is in the tank, the elite reward those who helped get us there. While many individuals have suffered as a result of self-interested decision making, Blair rewards himself with a 45 minute lecture for a fee of $250,000.

Summary:
The $1 million From the Dan David Foundation, the Blair Rewards of $250 thousand for his 45 minute lecture on the U.S. Lecture Circuit and the JP Morgan Chase $1 million have sweetened the Blair kitty for retirement while the middle class gets kitty litter. This still stinks in my opinion, even if we got the kitty litter.

Bobby Blair is politically conscious individual that is intolerant of political misuse such as the blair rewards program. Issues like the blair rewards are examples of the political misuse of power and influence faced by society. Left unchallenged this type of behavior may result in compounded social problems for the world.

It is as though the blair rewards program has taken a chapter from the lobbyist’s handbook of achieving one’s own self interest no matter what the cost is for other individuals. The Blair rewards complaints are likely to result in nothing more than a political slap on the wrist resulting in a bit of bad press before the next sensational story comes about for journalists to pursue. In the mean time, spinning the Blair rewards program is easily accomplished through rhetoric and various other political tactics.

Unfortunately, Blair rewards complaints are nothing more than discourse catalyzing no change or modification of behavior by politicians and the status quo. The level of openness regarding the blatant favor-seeking behavior as illustrated through the Blair rewards program should be somewhat suspicious. Like many other things in the world, it propagates a certain acceptance by the general public that politicians are not trustworthy and therefore the Blair rewards program opens the door for future politicians to simply follow suit. The general population then becomes more accepting of such practices as a result of being lulled into submission by the precedence set forth by Blair rewards.

The precedent set by the Blair rewards program is then an open ticket for more open political lobbying practices. As we move forward, the population becomes more and more desensitized to this type of behavior creating a vacuum for future misconduct. Blair rewards can be similarly described as the way businesses interact with one another. The difference is that the Blair rewards program is funded by the general public and the only stakeholder that is benefiting from the program is Tony Blair.

If the Blair rewards complaints fail to carry any consequences, then there is really no reason to change the practices. Essentially, without consequences the Blair rewards program is a program that is surrounded by only upside potential for continuing the practice. Politicians are well-accustomed to negative press and they understand that the general public is forgetful as a result of such things being so far out of their domain for understanding. It is easy for the public to forgive such actions when they place themselves in a position of thinking that the politicians must have more information at their disposal, which is justification enough for propagating such behavior.

Bobby Blair is politically conscious individual that is keen on addressing blair rewards complaints. Issues like the blair rewards program are good examples of the problems that we face as a society. Left unchallenged this type of behavior can go unmitigated and result in additional social problems for the world.
